Learning Community Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for the Learning Community. Due to a limited number of available spaces, the application process is selective.  We encourage students who wish to take full advantage of the residential college experience and of Midland’s caring faculty and robust academic support resources to apply.

Learning Community applications will be accepted starting March 27 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified of their status via U.S. Mail. Should an applicant not be placed in the Learning Community, this same application will be used to determine the housing assignment. Housing assignment information will be mailed separately by July 1.

Please complete the form below and attach your original, complete and thoughtful responses to the following reflective questions.

  • Describe your philosophy of learning.
  • What qualities or attributes would you be able to contribute to the Learning Community?
  • What kinds of topics/issues do you like to discuss/debate with your friends?
  • What kind of cultural events/activities (arts, theatre, plays, music, etc.) do you enjoy?
  • What do you hope to gain from being involved in the Learning Community?
